1. Began work on the Declaration of Independence.
2. Students will memorize the beginning of it.
3. We will be working on it daily.
4. Today, we defined the more difficult words.

1. We discussed Marine Food Web's .
2. We drew a marine food web.
3. We studied for tomorrow's test.
4. Study the "Life in the Ocean" handout.
5. Study the notes you took in class during our review time.
6. TEST TOMORROW.

FEBRUARY 27, 2008

Grade 6 - History
1. Finished discussing "The Plague".
2. Passed out a list of questions that students are suppossed to answer in paragraph form. The students had time in class. It should be done or mostly done.

Grade 6 - Science
1. Read and discussed "Ocean Zones"
2. In class, we created a graph of the different ocean zones and drew 15 ocean animals into one of the ocean zones.
3. This should be completed as we did it as a class, but will be turned in tomorrow.

Grade 7 - Science
1. We are beginning a new unit today - Cell Biology.
2. We will be having almost daily quizes to review the information that we're studying.
3. There will be a quiz tomorrow on the 3 points of the Cell Theory.
4. Extra credit will be given for knowing the scientist that invented the microscope.

Grade 8 - Science
1. Read: Radioactivity: The Unstable Nucleus and its Uses
2. Question Set 4 (#1-10) due tomorrow.

1. Our curriculum just gives a passing glance to the Middle Ages.
2. We talked and took notes on the Feudal System of government that arose with the absence of Rome's centrally controlling government.
3. We also talk briefly about the beginning of Islam.
4. We will then talk about the Black Plague.
5. This will set us up to study the Enlightenment period.

Grade 6 - Science
1. "The Wave of Kanagawa" is Due next Monday.
2. We will be painting them on that day.

Grade 7 - Science
1. Finished Current Map.
2. Current Map due tomorrow.
3. Lexicon due tomorrow.

1. Mrs. Fulcher wants a list of those students who know the school creed.

3. We will have those who were absent or those who need another try do it next Friday.
4. Passed back Spring and Neap Tide Charts and discussed how and why grades were given.
5. Began talking about Surface Currents.

an in-class test. Some parts of it are to be done individually and other parts are to be done as a class. We will finish this tomorrow.

Grade 6 - Science
1. Discussed answers to the Venn Diagram on Currents that was homework for yesterday.

2. Played a game to review for test .

Grade 7 - Science
1. Began work on Spring and Neap Tide Chart .
We will work on this tomorrow.
What is not finished in class will become homework for THURSDAY.


Grade 8 - Science
1. Finished working on, "The Wave"
Look for your work of art in the hall!
Mr. Hicks is amazed at your work!

3. Passed out chart that showed the level in the ocean where each color of light is absorbed.
Discussed briefly.
4. On the back of that paper we drew an example of an Ocean Food Web.
5. We ended the day by beginning our Oral Reports
Brady was first. He did a fabulous job!!!!!
6. Be prepared to give your report tomorrow. We will chose by drawing a person's name out of bucket.
7. We will also spend some time reviewing for the test on Friday!

1. Permission slips for helping with the Third Grade Roman Festival on February 14, at 12:30-2:00 are due tomorrow. Remember to get the signature of your teacher whose class you'll be missing. (5th Period is from 11:57-12:47, 6th Period is from 12:50-1:40, and 7th Period is from 1:43-2:30)
2. During class we read the handout: CHRISTIANITY IN THE ROMAN EMPIRE
3. Points were received for participating in the class discussion after the reading. Each child that raised their hand to participate was called on.
